Merge duplicate Contact records

Click on the + sign to view all tabs

Click "Search Contacts" and then type in the name of the contact records you want to merge

Select the records you want to merge and click "Next"

Always select the record with any related objects, e.g. engagements, as the master

The first record (created first) has information that the duplicate record (created later) does not contain. Make sure to retain all that information. It is the general best practice to select the oldest record as the master and essentially update it with the any newer data from duplicate records.

Don't worry about overwriting the original address with the more recently submitted address - the mailing address gets automatically created by the system as a record on the contact's Household record.
