Create a new Contact record
Contact records are used to capture information about an individual.
Search for existing records
Always search first to see if a record exists! For example, before creating a new record for Eana Chung, type "eana" into the top search bar to see if a record already exists.
Select Contact Record Type
We have several different contact record types: Network, Professional, Development, Standard, Youth and Weave. Note: The order in which these types are listed may vary for users are different teams.
- The Network type should be used for all AGLN Fellows. This record type includes sections that are specific to the AGLN Fellow experience, ie. Ventures.
- The Standard type should be used for all Aspen Executive Seminars constituents as well as any contacts who don’t fit into the other categories outlined here.
- The Development type should be used exclusively for new prospects added by the Development Team.
- The Weave type should be used for all Weave constituents.
- The Professional type should be used for contacts with whom we interact on a primarily functional level. The professional contact record is the most basic: contact information and primary organization affiliation.
- The Youth types are used for children of constituents. We track children for events like the Youth Action Forum but collect minimal data on them.
Save the record
You can create a record with a bare minimum of details: currently, you only need a Last Name. Focus on the contact details first. To flesh out the record, you'll need to connect it to other records (for Primary Affiliation, Engagement, etc.) so it's best to make sure all the records exist first.
