Manage my Chatter email notifications

Under the "Chatter" tab on the left hand side, you'll see the "Email Notifications" section where you can adjust your Chatter email preferences

Manage my Chatter email notifications

As we start using Chatter more frequently, you'll start to notice email notifications and digests. You can adjust your settings to receive emails selectively.

General: Receive emails

We recommend leaving the "Receive Emails" box checked so that you're able to get emails from Chatter. If you feel like you're getting too many emails, you can limit the type of notifications you get by adjusting your setting under the "Personal" tab. Mentions and actions specifically related to you are the most helpful notifications to get.

Frequency for Email Digests

Chatter can send a personal digest email (for everything you follow on Chatter) and group digest emails (for groups you're a part of) on a daily or weekly basis. The daily digests are sent at the end of the day and the weekly digests are sent on Sundays. All digests are sent at the same time so are easy to ignore if you're busy.

For most people, a daily digest is too much. If you're regularly on Salesforce, you'll see most activity anyway and might even choose not to receive an email digest. We recommend a weekly digest of everything you follow on Chatter so that you have a compiled view of what's been happening that week. That way, if you overlooked a post the first time around, it'll be brought to your attention again.
